Teeth and Wisdom

Why do we call them our "wisdom teeth"? Does anyone really believe that teeth make us wiser? As it so happened, today I had to get all four of my wisdom teeth removed. It wasn't really a process I looked forward to, but the surgery went well and quickly and I seem to be recovering. So thank you to all of you who prayed for me! And true to my word, I have even included a very non-flattering picture of me, perhaps an unwise decision!

Wisdom defined by Webster is: accumulated philosophic or scientific learning; ability to discern inner qualities and relationships; good sense; a wise attitude or course of action
