House Hopping!

This past Saturday I left my home away from home, my apartment underneath the Waskosky family to move in with a Christian Ecuadorian family, the Cabrera's. Henri and Yadira have two young children, Caleb and Amber. The house actually belongs to another missionary family who happens to be on furlough right now. I was very relieved to find that I would have my own bedroom and bathroom...it's just nice to have personal space! The house comes complete with 3 dogs, at least 2 cats, and 2 parakeets, so as you may imagine it can be quite a noisy and busy place! The transition went well, although it took awhile to kind of break the ice. But break it did, one evening when I was working on school work on my laptop and Yadira worked on some scrapbooking, we heard a monstrous sound coming from a back bedroom. Another guest just for the week, Pablo was snoring away! We just turned and looked at each other and burst out laughing, it was good because it kind of just broke the ice for us. So praise God for Pablo's snoring!

Just yesterday I started house sitting for a missionary who runs an orphanage since she is out of town for a week. She lets me use her internet access to do my schoolwork so I am very thankful for her generosity. I'm excited to be in a house with television, dvd's, DSL internet, and a vonage phone which I can use to call stateside! But I feel a bit like the wanderer right now, changing my location so quickly, multiple times! In about two months I will be returning to the apartment under the Waskosky's. Right now they have a group of linguistic interns who need to live there. Then my last month here, I will be house sitting for another missionary family...I'm getting the full tour!
