One Saturday night at youth group we broke into groups and we were asked to create a visual for the armor of God. Of course, being the gringo of the group, I was chosen to dress in the armor of God that we created. But then again, I'm always up for things so of course I went along with it. Then each group presented and described the different armor pieces and what they represent in the spiritual battle. It was a good reminder of what we need each day to be prepared for our daily battles. "Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace, above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" Ephesians 6:13-17
I'm glad that I don't need to put on real physical armor everyday but I don't want to neglect the armor of God. He gives us the things we need to fight the good fight but it is up to us to use them. What good is armor if we do not put it on?
"Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified. Do not be discouraged for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
