To Get To The Other Side

The HCJB bridge, my main link to walk to NSMS each morning was at first intimidating. I have never been one for heights and that certainly hasn't changed. Crossing that bridge for the first time was a bit scary as I felt it sway under my feet and I heard the creaking and rattling. I thought, perhaps there is a better way to walk to school each morning than this path. Each day I gained more faith that the bridge would not tumble and fall under my weight. No longer does it look long and foreboding but instead a necessary part of my path. In fact, I have even come to look forward to crossing the bridge each day, I can even claim to running across it with my backback behind me and my eyes ahead. I no longer flinch from the sway but rather invite the rocking motion. Sometimes in our walk with God we have bridges that we must cross. They are not always easy at first and may take a bit of work and extra encouragement in order for us to cross them. We may feel insecure in the middle and look from one end to the other and wonder how we got into this mess, but if you come out on the other side you have conquered that fear. No longer are you held down with what you once feared and shied from. Quite the contrary, you are able to increase your faith and confidence. Not only that but you are able to bring others across the bridge that you struggled with so that they too may benefit.
I find myself now the novice, encouraging and reassuring others that the HCJB bridge is indeed secure and safe. That they need not have any fear in crossing it. God will not let your foot stumble. He is my rock and my fortress. And He is there for you too.
