Trying to get a head start here because the end of the month is going to get crazy and baby could come anytime!

Ivan has been working on camp preparations and I've been doing what I can.  With less than a month before camp, we feel the stress and pressure of getting everything lined up and ready to go.  I'm secretly happy because we are in the preparation stage of having checklists and schedules (which I'm pretty sure are my love languages).  While physically, I'm feeling the weight (literally) of the pregnancy and trying to rest as needed, mentally I'm working non-stop.  In case third trimester and camp prep wasn't enough, I also decided to undertake the feat of harvesting and preparing my own coffee from the coffee plants we have.  What can I say, I also love coffee.  In case you're wondering it's quite the process.....

...Well, I didn't quite get that head start because not soon after starting to write this post, our little guy decided to come!  I'll spare you all the details, but on Thursday, June 13th my water broke and we headed to the hospital at midnight.  From there it was go-time and at 7:25 am (Friday, June 14th) Benjamin Elian was born!  We spent two nights at the hospital and were given the ok to go home on Sunday.  We've been recovering well and are happy to be home!  Ivan's family has been helping out with meals and cleaning around the house so that I can rest and focus on taking care of this precious little baby.

"God had plunged them into a sea of joy."
Ezra 6:22 (The MSG)
That pretty much sums up how I'm feeling!  We are so thankful for this miracle of life!  We are so thankful for the prayers and encouragement of friends and family as we embark on this new journey of parenthood.  While we were recovering in the hospital, Ivan and I just kept commenting on how faithful God is to provide for our needs and His goodness.  The medical staff was excellent and we are so glad we ended up deciding to have the baby there.  The biggest fears that I had were non-issues and we are praising the Lord for a healthy baby boy.

There is a sense of relief, as now Ivan can focus on the preparations for camp without worry.  Another answer to prayer!  As we adjust to our "new" normal, we appreciate your prayers!  I am at times a bit overwhelmed by the cultural differences and opinions while navigating life as a new mom.  Praying that I can be full of grace and respectful of the different opinions.  Praying that Ivan and I continue to communicate well, even in those wee hours of the morning.

Well, nap time is over, so adios for now!
