We clean up nice.  ;)
Outreach camp #1 (Quito) has come and gone!  We had an incredible team of leaders and work crew who worked non-stop to help camp run as smoothly as possible.  Of course there are always some  hiccups along the way and there's the night when it took me hours to get all the egg, flour, and shaving cream out of my hair...but all-in-all a successful camp!  22 campers made a decision to start a relationship with Christ!  Praise God!  It's those 15 minutes of silence where kids spread out across the camp and have time to talk with God that makes it all worth it.
A verse that stood out to me comes from Deuteronomy 30:19-20
"I place before you life and death, blessing and curse.  Choose life so that you and your children will live.  And love God, your God, listening obediently to him, firmly embracing Him.  Oh yes, He is life itself, a long life settled on the soul that God, your God, promised to give your ancestors."
(The Message)
What a gift and honor to see kids choose life.  As I take this week to rest, regroup, and prepare for the next camp I think about the simplicity of the gospel message.  In Deuteronomy it's a pretty clear message.  We each have a choice to make.  I encourage you, too:  Choose life.

The ride back home was extra cozy, as we rented a large type of moving truck to bring all of our supplies/materials back to Shell, for camp #2, as well as 6 people.  Thankful for the extra mattresses to sit on for the 5+ hour drive.  Nothing like riding in style!  ;)  Especially thankful that everyone's stomachs didn't mind the twisty, bumpy ride in a completely enclosed space!  Count your blessings!
Eggs and flour for days.
