Well, this morning I spoke on the live radio here in Shell! It was...an experience, I'm not sure I'd really want to do it again. I was pretty nervous about it since I would be speaking in spanish for a larger scale of people. I had my friend Pamela help me write out some answers to certain pre-discussed questions so that I wouldn't be totally in the dark. She was so supportive of me, that she went to Ambato (a two hour trip) to vote for something and then got right back on the bus to return in time to be with me at the radio station when I talked! I was so thankful to have her there because she could help me make sure that I understood the questions and her presence in itself was a huge comfort. I also had some loyal friends (Eileen, Beth, and Spencer) who got together to listen to me on the radio! As much as I joked that I didn't want them to listen, it was nice to know that there were people listening, cheering me on, or at least I hope they were cheering me on and not just laughing!
It was a Christian program and I was able to share how God used circumstances to bring me to Ecuador and how nothing is impossible with Him. I also sang "happy birthday" in english over the radio to one of the callers...(all of a sudden they are like...and Raquel will sing Happy Birthday...!!!) They also offered callers that if anyone could answer this Biblical question they would win a date with me! (thankfully nobody called in with the correct answer...it was pretty funny though!)

I will admit - when you broke into song, we all looked at eachother in shock, and then just started laughing. It was GREAT though! You are a LOT braver than I am, that's for sure!
Awesome!! It's cool you got to share about the Lord on the radio!!! I hope the Wednesday bible study has been easier for you w/o me there!!! Sorry about that. :) Gotta get to bed so I'll finish by saying God bless you and your classroom and continue in your walk with the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
