October marks the end of the summer days and while we really just distinguish between rainy and non-rainy season here, I like to imagine we are in fall now.  The days start out promising with sunshine and clear skies but almost like clockwork by mid-day or early afternoon the clouds roll in and it is not uncommon for thunderstorms or heavy rain to fill our afternoons and evenings.  It means we'll be using our chimney more frequently to warm up the house and I've got to be quick to do laundry and hang it up outside in the early hours if I want it to dry!

We are enjoying the less intensive school schedule so far and I am grateful for the flexibility it allows our family.  The flexibility has allowed me to return to administrative work for Young Life as well as do some informal homeschooling with Benji.  I'm still getting my footing with how it all looks and works in the day-to-day schedule and some days we hit a good groove and other days we're on the struggle bus.

Things have felt heavy lately.  I have been experiencing some minor health issues and so we've been trying to figure that out and I personally wonder if it is in part related to stress and anxiety.  (Haven't we all been feeling extra anxiety lately?)

I find refuge in the words in the book of Daniel 6:27  "He is the living God, world without end.  His kingdom never falls, His rule continues eternally.  He is a Savior and rescuer.  He performs astonishing miracles in heaven and on earth."

Praise God!

These kiddos keep me on my toes!

This sunflower is my absolute favorite.  Not sure how it will hold up with the rains now but it certainly brightens my day!
