Mission in Progress

I seem to have this knack for a never-ending excitement and adventure in my life. I foolishly thought that only exciting things happened to me in Ecuador and than once I was back in the States it would be back to the normalcy of life and kind of hum-drum living. Well, since I've been "home" while some of my days are non-eventful others have taken twists and turns that I did not expect. The other week my mother, sister, and I were visiting family in New Jersey and on the trip back got a flat tire on a busy highway...

Today as I opened the front door of our house to walk to our neighbors I was stung by a bee. I was taken completely unawares!

As I write this I can't help but laugh at the silly thought that my adventures were over now that I'm back in VA. I can clearly see that they are just beginning! I have also realized that my mission has not ended. There is a need for the truth to be spoken, not just across the oceans but in line at Wal-Mart. While I do feel called to ministering beyond these 50 States, I also feel a calling for the here and the now.

"But how can people call for help if they don't know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven't heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them unless someone is sent to do it?" Romans 10:14-15 (The Message)
